A Letter From Ben Edwards
Dear Teachers and Parents,
I hope you enjoy the 20th Anniversary Edition of my children’s book One April in Boston. I’ve been intrigued by my family’s history and our connection to Paul Revere since I was a child. This book brings that tale to life while conveying the power of imagination and the value of goal setting for the younger generation.
One April in Boston tells the story of the Edwards family and my Revere cousins through the eyes of a curious young boy. It also journeys through time and American history from colonial Boston, including Paul Revere’s midnight ride and the American Revolution, on through World War I.
As a relative of Paul Revere and a Paul Revere House Board member for over two decades, I feel strongly about supporting the organization’s educational programming, especially its programs for children. My tour and publishing business, Spyglass Books, LLC, donates up to 500 copies of One April in Boston to the Paul Revere House annually for sale in its on-site and online gift shops. One hundred percent of the $15.00 retail price is used to support educational programs for children at the Revere House. Books are also donated to King’s Chapel and Old North Church.
In addition to my book, I encourage you to take advantage of the extensive free content on Paul Revere, his life and legacy, and the Paul Revere House that can be found at paulreverehouse.org. If you are looking for content that children can use to craft reports or you can use to develop your own social studies curriculum, this is a great resource.
Sincerely,
Ben Edwards
